TERRE ET HONNEUR
Performance — Tamara Abou Alwan
Terre et Honneur is a performative form drawn from an ongoing hybrid documentary project devoted to the Al-Mouahhidin Al-Druze.
Through physical theatre, butō, image and media, Tamara Abou Alwan seeks to reveal a history long obscured by propaganda and silence. The project explores the depth of Druze spiritual beliefs, the suffering of this community, its daily life, culture and esoteric philosophies.
The performance follows the peaceful rhythm of Druze life while traversing a long and painful history of resistance: that of a community seeking justice, dignity and the right to exist in peace, despite the persecutions and attempts at erasure that have pursued it across centuries.
The project becomes a spiritual, philosophical and political awakening. It invites us to reconsider the meaning of human dignity, resilience and inner knowledge.
It brings us back to the fundamental principles of Tawhid:
we come from one God, we emerge from the earth, and we return to it at last.
A testimony. A memory. A return to truth.
